how it all started

In October 2010 I was in two minds whether to go or not. And then he sent me this photograph. A flayed horse had been left in the waste bin of the car park opposite his office.
That morning I called the airline and bought a ticket.

    Devastating image..

.. hit me harder having just been to see “the Centaur and the Animal” an extraordinary exquisite exploration of the relationship between man and ‘Beast’

    • Thanks for posting this…knowing it was on in London and not being able to go see has been hard to take. Their transformation into half man half beast is stunning and magical.

Keep up the blog – I love where you’re coming from. I grew up with horses, so this really resonates with me. Only one thing – the image above shows a carcasse with cloven hooves – more bovine than equine…

Would have loved to see the Centaur and the Animal, beautiful riding and interaction. I wonder if it will be staged again? A friend of mine did her burlesque act on horseback at the Hackney empire in 2005 or so – amazing as they only had one day to train and rehearse. BTW Can’t wait for War Horse to open in cinemas, saw it on stage in London on its second run – the horse puppetry was extraordinary, and I can’t wait to see the ‘horse acting’ we’ve been promised in the film..
